Why Laser Hair Removal
Shaving is tedious and waxing is a pain, serious pain sometimes. That’s why a lot of people are opting for laser hair removal at Cosmetic Rejuvenation Medical Center.
Using a laser designed specifically for hair removal, we kill the follicle at the root. Once that’s done, the hair is gone forever. In some cases, a very tiny, very fine hair may come back, but this is not noticeable.
Here’s why this is a good idea.
• It eliminates, forever, razor bumps and ingrown hairs after shaving.
• It’s targeted. If all you want is to remove a few specific hairs, such as those growing from a mole, we can do that and leave everything else intact.
• It’s fast. We can treat a space about the size of a quarter every second. That means a lip can be done in less than a minute. Treating an entire back make take an hour.
WHAT TO EXPECT
It may take more than one treatment to get rid of all the hair. The laser only works with the follicle is in the active growing stage. When the hair stops growing, hibernating is a good way to think of it, the treatment won’t work. That’s why more than one visit is usually necessary.
The laser also has to be adjusted for color, thickness and where the hair is located. That’s why experts have far better success than at-home laser removal efforts.
During the actual treatment, the hair will be trimmed back to a few millimeters. This is necessary because the laser actually uses the hair to funnel the light down to the root. Long hair means the laser is scattered before it reaches the root. Because of this, we highly recommend you do not wax or pluck the hair for six weeks prior to planned treatment. Please also avoid shaving for a few days prior.
This is a laser. Your skin is going to feel like it’s a bit sunburned for a few days. In rare cases, the skin may have mild blisters. This is another reason you should only let experts perform this treatment. Under the hands of an expert, your skin is safe. With someone who does not know they are doing, serious problems may result.
We find moisturizers and cool compresses help relief the discomfort.
