Laser Skin Resurfacing | Tighten + REjuvenate

What is CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing treatments are a very effective way of treating the results that come from sun exposure, aging, and smoking. There are two types of resurfacing lasers: ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers use quick pulsations of high-intensity light that remove the compromised upper layers of your skin, resulting in a smoother, tighter appearance with fewer wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation. Non-ablative lasers are less invasive and do not remove the top layer of skin.  Non-ablative lasers act by stimulating collagen growth and tightening the underlying skin.

What Does CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing Treat?

CO2 fractional lasers typically provide the most results within a single treatment. Some of the concerns that can be treated with CO2 fractional lasers are fine lines, moderate wrinkles and folds, acne scarring, sun damage and melasma.

How Does CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing Work?

A CO2 laser uses small, directed pulses of fractionated light energy to target specific areas deep in the skin instead of the entire surface of the skin. When these small “injuries” are created, the surrounding healthy skin then initiates and helps with the healing process.  This process creates new collagen and elastin. Fractional CO2 laser treatment is very effective and does not need to be done more then once.

What is the Recovery Associated with CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

Since the treatment involves removing the top layer of the skin, it is important to remember that your skin will need take time to heal itself. No two people have the same skin chemistry, so different results and reactions are to be expected. Immediately after the treatment, some will have what looks like a moderate to severe sun burn. Most patients tend to need up to 10 days of downtime.
